Does anyone have any ideas how to manage allergies? I have a nasty nasty rash that appears sometimes (I still don't know the cause). I think it's a reaction maybe to food colourings? Salmon and lentils also might be an issue.Has anyone doing IE worked this sort of thing out? I'll take any help I can get! Thanks, See More
I dont know if this is a question for this site, but I need to ask. I can recognize when I am about to eat due to stress, sadness, anger, etc. But what comes after is the hard part for me. Lets say I am about to eat because I feel sad and stop myself. Now i have recognized that I am sad, but then what?!! And yes the book does talk about distractions and how some can be considered healthy, like going for a walk or reading a book. But I don't want to distract myself. So when the reason for why I…See More
"Thank you for saying that Monique, that means a lot. I know what you mean about beginning excitement. I haven't been doing IE longer than a month, but each week gets better and better. And I dont believe its off topic. If the word food (dairy…"
"Thank you so much for the support. I've really enjoyed and connected with your posts. I'm trying to convince myself to get rid of my scale. Loving my "now body" is really hard for me and that scale has become a serious…"
"Even though i haven't been doing IE for long, its working a lot faster than expected. Going back and re-reading the book, alone with the forums, have really helped me to understand IE to the fullest. After i posted this question and read the…"
"Thank you Eeza. I'm hoping if I can resolve to check in on this forum at least weekly (hopefully more). Many forums I have been on have so many people arguing and posting judgemental things I end up not wanting to participate. This one…"
"Welcome, Monique! It sounds like you are ready to try IE! You are done with the obsession and frustration of dieting and you are willing to be kind to yourself. I think both are key to being successful with IE. There will be…"
Hi All,A little background about me. I'm very shy about introducing myself in a forum but I feel very seriously about making this lifestyle change so I'm hoping introducing myself will be therapeutic. I've been dieting since 8 years old. I'm 42 now so I figure from posts I've read I'm giving IE at least a 34month trial! Almost 4 years ago now I developed a mystery eye condition and began to have severe ear itching. It took two years to figure out it was food related. Part of changing over…See More
"This tells me that the fitbit does exert some control over you. If you simply noted that you didn't get your steps in and didn't feel bad about it, I think that would be different. The steps would just be a piece of data like…"
"Thank you for posting this! I pretty much follow a paleo diet because I have an inflammatory eye condition that I suffered with for a couple of years before I gave up on the othalmologist and saw a naturopath. I changed my diet and the…"
Fitbit and IEI have gotten rid my scale, and I intentionally look away when I get weighed at the doctors office. I think some day I would like to know my weight, when I am sure that I will not give the numbers any "power".Recently I have been wondering if I am using my Fitbit as a diet tool. I find myself unwilling to go without it and stressed and feeling badly if I don't get "my steps" for the day. I feel I am doing better with eating what I want guilt free, and I am learning to honor my…See More
